Wishful Storytelling for 'The Young and the Restless'

As Y&R viewers know, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has been passing off Adam Newman's (Michael Muhney) baby as someone else's, and that person happens to be down-to-earth Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton). Burton's introduction to the soap wasn't all viewers hoped it would be, as executive producer Jill Farren Phelps probably just wanted Burton on her soap no matter what the crappy storyline they chose to give him. Chelsea and Dylan, dubbed "Chylan", have great chemistry together, but if you're gonna look past that, there's absolutely no depth! In other words, boring snore fest. And that's why I'm issuing a wishful storytelling request to how the truth about Chelsea's baby should be revealed.

Dylan entered the scene as the presumed dead boyfriend of Avery Bailey Clark (Jessica Collins). Avery, in love with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), eventually chose Nick and they've decided to get married. Avery and Dylan's scenes together since then have shown that they still love each other. Chelsea's sleaze bag father Jeffrey Bardwell (Ted Shackelford) knows the truth about her baby and demanded money to keep quiet. Jeff spills the beans to Adam, who confronts Dylan and Chelsea. Dylan ditches Chelsea over her con and decides to get Avery back. On her wedding day with Nick, Avery worries if she's making the right choice by marrying him. Dylan shows up and tells her everything about Chelsea's baby, and admits he still loves her. Just hours before her wedding, Dylan convinces Avery to   run away with him. Nick and their loved ones wait for her to walk down the aisle, but she never does.

Meanwhile, Adam demands to be present in his child's life, and due to sudden complications in her pregnancy, Chelsea is forced to move in with Adam. They begin to reconnect, sleep together and are soon reunited. He promises to reduce his role at Newman Enterprises, but Chelsea refuses to believe him. Determined to prove her wrong, Adam resigns at Newman and proposes to Chelsea as she goes into labor...

That's the way I believe this storyline should go down. Of course, this will most probably not happen, as Josh Griffith is currently using bipolar Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) as the town's scapegoat. But hey, we as viewers can only predict and hope, right? Watch The Young and the Restless weekdays on CBS.
